At what point does the charging BG start it's pursuit? All fragmented BGs test if charged but any fragmented BG charged in the flank will also drop one level and rout. So once a flank charge is announced, at what point does the charger begin its pursuit move?
I'm thinking the fragmented BG rolls to stand. If they pass the CT, then the charger is moved to contact which immediately breaks the BG. So in this case there is no impact since page 100 says damage on broken BGs is inflicted in the JAP. The broken BG would then rout and the charger would roll pursuit from point of impact. Conversely, if the fragmented BG failed the CT it would rout immediately and the charger would pursue from its starting charge position not point of contact. Does this sound right?

If the fragged BG failed the test there is no pursuit. The router rolls VMD as normal for initial rout. Top P61. And routs before the charger is moved
But the charger just charges with no target, without vmd as a VMD is only rolled by chargers if all targets evade. I think that bit is covered in the FAQ.
If the fragged BG passes the CT for the charge it is broken on contact and Routs at contact rolling VMD. Since the charger is in contact when it breaks it now immediately pusues with VMD.

OK, thanks. and I see what you mean. All the references for chargers rolling VMD are only if all targets evade. It is in both the RAW and the FAQ. It says nothing about rolling VMD to pursue routing units unless the BG was already in contact when the unit routed. I wonder if this was on purpose or if it was just overlooked that charge targets might rout instead of evade?

Bad? They missed loads of stuff. Thats why we have to have a V2.
Although if you went to Wales Dr Bodley-Scott would still have you burnt at the stake as I believe it is still legal there. As is his sort of (mal)practice. Diagnosis by chicken bones and the position of the moon I believe. Doesn't matter what the diagnosis is, the prognosis is alway bad and involves the use of lychees

I was reading through the list of changes they are considering to date. It doesn't sound like a V2 to me at all. It sounds like a V1.2. They aren't planning any major changes to the way the game is played. Everything looks like tweaks and clarifications which sounds to me like they should issue an updated FAQ to handle it. Frankly, I like the way the game flows right now.

Recommend that you sign up as a Beta Tester if you can. Lots of changes - most good - some not so good - depending upon your viewpoint.I was reading through the list of changes they are considering to date. It doesn't sound like a V2 to me at all. And yes - you have the OP spot on in terms of what happens and when. Phil is right about the VMD.
