Lost World, Strategos, Isles...etc.???
Just was wandering through here and wondered if there was ever a word that these would someday continue?
Lost World?
Strategos?
Isles?

Other than LoEG, are there any campaigns on the go now?

Regretably, no. It seems running a canpaign is too much for mere mortals. Lost World lost its steam when its creator became ill. Mare Norstrum became too big a time commitment as apparently did the others. Theywere all great furn, but now gone. Will someone take up the challenge? Will Slitherine create an automated campaign that takes the burden off of one player? I sure hope so.

Lost World
Lost World was taken up by davouthojo and graymouser , but it seemed to fizzle as the 3rd season of LOEG came in at the same time and i think everyone went there and forgot LW , i would love to carry it on in some format.I was also wondering if something could be done through slitherine to make a campaign easier to run , like a campaign addon ????? , for casualties etc.... , maybe

What we're talking about here is a complete game in itself, that happens to use FoG to find the result of it's encounters.
Sounds a great idea, but will it ever happen?
Maybe we are asking too much from the campaign (too many sub rules) and making it such a burden to control that the person running it gives up? I found the Lost World got a bit too complicated for my tastes when the playing cards were introduced, OK it gave a bit of flavour, but it introduced a level of confusion that I didn't want to get lost in!

Campaign are interesting to generate battle, but they must be short. Our mystake is to plan LONG campaign ovre 25 turnes or more. A campaign should focus on 4-6 turns or be ready to have player dropping.
After what we ask FoG is to accept custom army matching on custom map and giving us a feed back (ie the modified army) for the next battle.

In my campaign there are four turns or "phases" each year - spring, summer, autumn, and winter - and within each phase there is a recruitment opportunity - and the numbers of troops recruitable is linked to the quality of the leaders still active (alive) in the campaign.maximvs wrote:Yes, I can see that that would perhaps be possible as the server knows the losses taken by each army (in points anyway).
So the next battle could be fought using only the remaining points (possibly with an extra few points calculated to show the return of light injured and stragglers, etc).
