Sounnd stopped working

Hi, I have been playing CEAW Gold for the last year on the same machine with very few problems (occasional crash).

Suddenly the sounds and music stopped working. I can click on the sound files and they work and sound works in every other application.

The PC is a Toshiba Satellite Pro running Vista 32-bit, 4Gb RAM, INtel Core Duo T9400 processors. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 video card, onboard Conextant High Definition SmartAudio 221. System software (eg Avast anti-virus) has been running well before the sound stopped. Likewise Windows Firewall.

Any thoughts?

Maybe try reinstalling or checking what has been updated since it stopped working and revert the changes? Maybe a settings file is corrupt so try deleting them?
