Early Russian

i was looking at Clash of Empires in the shop section on this website and i noticed one of the lists was Early Russian.

can you tell me what years that list covers?

1494 - c. 1630 IIRC.

Yep even at 1:50 there are a LOT of Russians. Even using a Swedish 800 point and a 900 point Russian army I came up short. Had enough Winged Hussars though...

From what I've read (not much admittedly) most of the Russians were of very dubious ability, did not fight (only died in the rout) and are probably not worth representing on table.

Not unless you have a spare 20,000+ peasants : :shock:

The number of Russians have been vastly exaggerated in accounts, Swedish 17th C. historian Widekindi who had access to Jakob de La Gardie's lost report (destroyed by fire in 1697) puts Russians at 5000 fighting men, of course there was a huge number of servants as well but these were of no military value. So you had a bit more than 3300 Swedes and 5000 Russians facing some 4000 Poles.
