Shooting evaders

Post by mellis1644 »

After ours first (successful and fun) game last night one question came up, where I think we played it right but thought I would check.

If Dragoons (or others) evade from impact, and are not caught by the chargers were we correct in saying that the attempted chargers can shot at the evaders in that turns shooting phase?

We played that they were.

Also, if instead of evading in the impact phase, troops broke after impact and were pursed but contact had not been kept by the pursers, then again the pursers can shoot into the back of the broken unit in the same turn?

Again we played they could. Note, the only reason to do this would be to try to generate base loss via death rolls.

We played that they were.

" No troops can shoot if they moved in the impact phase. (We judge that any shooting by chargers who failed to make contact and evaders would be too ineffective to have a significant effect.)"

Movement and Shooting heading in the Shooting Phase section of the rule book.

Thanks Nik.

We missed that, and likely many other nuances in the rules. One other I spotted was no support offered by Art units - although not sure that made a huge difference. :(

Complex route/pursuit items still got us diving for the book (I find that and evades the hardest bit in the rules to get straight) as well, but we worked that one out, we believe.
