Accused!!!

Post by Blathergut »

I'm being accused of being an animal hater.

Yes, I am. (Being accused, that is, not am.)

Dead. is frolicking around here, awaiting the rules, like this soul, and he's now obtained one of WG's Prince Rupert with his madde poodle/mutt.

I suggested I should pick one up and add a poodle to one of my pikes.

Does this make me an animal hater??!!?? 8)

I can slaughter thousands of men on a battlefield and be called a great general, but one poodle...

sheeeshhhh!!

Evidence speaks for itself, the masses of men who die are there because they want to be, the poor Poodle is a victim of circumstances beyond its control, and the animal hater above wishes to cause it unwarranted pain and suffering and loss of life.
Seems like an open and closed case
Blather(animal hater)gut does not like Poodles.

I think the animal lovers on this forum should rise up in arms.....
Perhaps we should rewrite history and chop off Cromwells head instead, hmmmmm :?

Well if you go by the period publications 'Boy' the princes puddle was the focus of significant attention in the public (of both sides) at the time. You can always claim it was not a dog but some kind of evil spirit - as some people at the time did. So maybe your not an animal hater but a righteous witch finder... although that may be an even harder position to justify with the track record they had in the wars. :)

P.S. 'Boy' come through history as a definitely interesting dog with a lot of character, very much like it's master.

So modeling it seems like a great idea IMO. You could have it loose in a camp with some figures chasing it etc, which is how it happened to get killed it in the end - looking for it's master. That would be a cool camp model....hmm....

Alas I believe he is still here, but he was quiet this weekend so might have taken a short jaunt to the US capital to go hunt some evil possessed four legged beings.....
Boye is happily on the command base with Rupert running behind Ruperts rearing horse, may have died in camp in real life but for my games he is safely escorting his master and I have added extra glue to his base to keep him from ending up on someones pikes :P

Boye was killed at Marston Moor. Had a profound effect on Rupert afterwards.

We hang our head in memory of Boye...... a much better soldier than Blathergut may turn out to be, or at least I can hope he is. I wonder if my lead Boye can influence die rolls through witch craft??
Perhaps if Rupert dies I should have Blathergut roll to see if Rupert died or Boye did, I might be able to keep a general on the table with a bad die roll that way.

Will you be having a Rupert at Naesby figure with the good general wiping the ice cream off his mouth ?

Rumour has it he was late for that battle due to his love of vanilla.

Alas Warlord has chosen to leave the ice cream off their figure. He is on a rearing horse, required a bit of reinforcing with a wire as the rear legs of the horse won't hold the weight of the figures and would eventually snap off, I suppose that might be the Nasby variant there as he would not be present. Instead of an ice cream cone he holds a war hammer. It should inspire the boys under his command.
I keep thinking he should be inspired, but then what to do with King Charles?? The other commander figure I have. From what I have read he doesn't sound like the inspiring type.

As an aside will Caveliers & generals be allowed to pursue troops off table for a d6 number of turns to accurately portray Wupert of the Whine ?

No, but they cannot stop pursuing while still in contact with routers, and must take a complex move test to stop pursuing even if they have lost contact with the pursuers.

Yes.

However, I found at Britcon that my Cavaliers pursued considerably further than they would have done if they were Determined Horse.

Gendarmes

Other types pursue like in FOGAM. (Must test to stop pursuing if still in contact, stop pursuing automatically once contact lost)

So as a Royalist I can pretty much expect one charge and then kiss off the cav as they will be merrily pursuing their target off the table.
Do enemy horse still get an evade option? IF they evade the Cavaliers still have to chase them down?

Might be a good idea not to take too many Royalist horse then :?

Horse do not evade, nor do Determined Horse. Cavalry can though.

Anyway, pursuit is only of broken troops.
