post a scenario?
Should we post a scenario to someone, so that it will be checked and released?

It's fairly easy to host content (initially) - we'll probably host up (or indeed include) user scenarios as we go forward, but initially people will want to get testing and balancing on their maps anyway.
Most net connections will come with some web space which is generally fairly simple to FTP into and then allow people access to your scenarios.
Another good way to share files is using DropBox, where you can drop in your scenario zip to the Public folder, get a link, and post it for people to use.
Cheers

One reason for buying this game was the hope for the simplicity of just being able to post the scenario in the challenge section of MP. I really have no interest (like in my younger days) to delve deeper. Besides my favorite opponent is totally computer inept. Also when can more scenarios be expected in MP?pipfromslitherine wrote:It's fairly easy to host content (initially) - we'll probably host up (or indeed include) user scenarios as we go forward, but initially people will want to get testing and balancing on their maps anyway.

The problem is that you can build quite large and weighty MP campaigns if you wanted to - including custom artwork, units, etc. So if we tried to include them in some way with the challenge, you could unexpectedly need to download a 20Mb campaign to play.
All the scenarios included in the FoG updates get tested by people passing them around first one would imagine. That's all I'm talking about - once the community agrees that a map is good then it is pretty simple to make it standard in some way.
If you have a map you have made and want to play with a friend, Dropbox (for example) take about 2 mins to set up, and your friend has to do no more than download a link you send him and unzip it to a directory.
