cant issue challeges

Hi i just bougth the game and every time i try to issue a challenge the game freezes and the only way to get back to the desktop is by doing alt+f4.
no message appears for the reason of the freeze does anybody.
there are also no cahlleges posted i dont know it is normal due to the recent release of the game.

Does it hang when you initially hit the button at the bottom of the screen to bring up the list of maps, or when you attempt to actually put the challenge up (the tick box on the map dialog).

You should see at least a "waiting..." box with a countdown?

Are you running a firewall of any kind, which perhaps hasn't given BA permission to send data?

its hangs the moment i push the issue challenge button and its makes the typical windows error pop-up dialog box sound and now that i ran it without the full screen its says:

unhandled exception expcode:0xC0000005 ExpFlags:0 ExpAddress:0x74D52645 Please report

im using a firewall but i have the game with free access.

Immediately after causing the crash, can you please go into your My Documents\My Games\BBCBA folder and Copy the last 40 lines or so of the error.log file, and then post them here. It will help work out what is going on. It's not something we've ever seen before, in fact I can't think of what could make it crash at that point.

But the log should tell me.

Bah - not a lot of information from the stack trace... Are you running a clean install? That is, do you have any custom multiplayer games in your My Docs directory?

I'll try and repeat here with an install to a different dir, as you seem to have.

yes is a clear install i just tried the tutorial and the first campaing mission.

Very odd. Looks like some kind of memory corruption. I will build a debug version to track through what is going on and then PM you with a link.

Can you do me a DXDiag post (I actually only need the first 100 lines or so) so I can see what your system specs are. It doesn't seem to be crashing setting up the list, which means it must be something render-wise, which is very odd given that you have played missions etc.

Also, what rez are you playing at? I know it might be a long shot, but can you try playing at 1024x768 and see if the crash still happens.

New ZIP at the same link. You'll need to go into the My Documents\My Games\BBCBA directory and add the line

SAFEMODE 1

to the user.txt file, then save the file and run.

It's perhaps a long shot, but can you update your video drivers. It looks like a system crash, and they are the most likely culprits. I will add in some more logging to try and give me more feedback, but it's a little less obvious where, as it isn't crashing in the logic of trying to build the list etc, but somewhere in displaying the UI.

Ah ha. Well, I can tell you it is crashing inside a DirectX function. I'm going to try and see whether I can either build in a workaround, or try a different DirectX version which might have a fix for this specific issue.
