Smoke was used often during assaults and withdrawals to cover one's movements. It would help in this game as well. Probably too late now, but maybe in a future patch?

this is a good idea.... it would be a great way to cover movement, allow for hidden flanking movements, attacks, or retreats.
making the world a better place through UNICEF and AIEF and CIN....
