FOG:R at Britcon

Post by rbodleyscott »

More players wanted for the FOG:R pre-release tournament at Britcon.

Now is your chance to take part in FOG:R at the begining, get a preview of the rules, and take part in a tournament without any tournament tigers.

You don't have to have been a beta-tester, you will automatically be signed up when you enter.

What armies are permitted? Quite interested, but I don't have a renaissance army as such, but do have a few Late meds that might be OK - presuming that basing remains the same ?

Rules and Lists to be used
The rules to be used are FOG:RENAISSANCE Beta Version 16.10_Britcon_2010
The list submitted must not exceed 800 points.
The lists to be used are the FoG:Renaissance Beta Lists which cover the following armies:

* French Italian Wars
* Swiss
* Caroline Imperialist
* Early Ottoman
* Aztec
* Mughal
* Polish Commonwealth
* Cossack
* ECW Parliamentarian
* ECW Early Royalist
* Early 30YW Swedish
* Early 30YW German Catholic
* Late C17th Anglo-Dutch
* Late C17th French

You can sign up for FOG R and the rules will be sent to you. You do have to sign a NDF before gettin g them. IIRC I think bases for DBR can be used don't quote me on that, there is a thread on the FOG R site about bases.

I think the mix is to allow people the full flavour of the period. As for basing, all the games I have played I have not rebased a single DBR figure though I probably should so do for things like generals and regimental guns but so far it has not been a major problem.

The armies are the beta test lists - they were done to get a wide enough cross section of troop types and formations play tested.

Indeed - they are only the beta lists and we wanted examples from a wide range of timelines and geographical areas to test all the different features of the rules during beta-testing.

Of course the 6 army list books will contain a total of about 130 different lists.
