Benefits of Light Spear?

Apologies if this has already been asked.

Foot armed with a light spear only get a + against troops if there are no other net POAs.

So against Impact Foot, the light spears will be on - -? And against most spearmen and heavy weapons at impact, light spears will be on - ?

But they always count a POA against Elephants.

They don't seem too good then?

Kind of the base weapon on which everything else improves. Some troops have no POAs and the JLS will be a + on those. Indeed they are at a big disadvantage against foot with decent capabilities. Most JLS foot who were potent in a charge are IF in the lists IIRC correctly. Jav always good vs elephants as you say. See if you get problems with it once playing but certainly it is a "poor mans" capability bu design at present........and costed accordingly - at the grand price of O for foot.

They will be a + against most missile troups, and against Def Sp that charge them, and against most mounted if in terrain.
