trouble with the iphone version.

Post by hedinvise »

Hi, I'm not sure if i'm posting in the right place. I downloaded the game from the app store and it crashes every time I start it.. even if I reinstall. (wont get past the title screen). Looks like a fantastic game.. any ideas on how I can get it running? I'm using an Iphone 3g - 8gig.

thanks!

Sorry you are having problems. That is very odd - once I had an issue like this on another game and I restored the factory default settings from inside iTunes and then everything worked again. It might be worth trying this but you will have to upload all your applications and data to your phone again after doing this.

If this does not work I'll ask the developer to investigate but can you tell us exactly which screen you get to before you have a problem.

Mine does the same as well , however if i restart the iphone , it then
works and plays ok.

I have the 3G 8 gig iphone as well.

It crashes at the intro screen.

Cheers

I got it going it with an iphone restart, followed by a re-install of the game. Thanks for the help!

I have talked with the developer on this and they say that it is likely to be linked to a memory leak in an application you ran before running Egypt EaE. EEaE uses all the resources of your phone for the detailed maps etc so if a previous application had not freed up memory it was supposed to it could cause this issue. They say restarting your phone should solve the problem.

Yeah, that makes sense... I did use a free memory app that was supposed to clear out the run-time memory, didn't quite work though. The restart sounds like it's the only way to clear up the memory completely. Looking forward to playing it... (after mid-terms)... :) thanks again.
