Tough economic times in UK and Europe (not a political rant)

Post by MrsWargamer »

I don't follow politics much (leads too too much stress in a life with more than enough already eh).

But I HAVE noticed that things have been far from rosy over there in the old world.

Just want to let it be known, this Canadian hopes all of my UK friends are ok during this potentially hellish time.

Hope Slitherine, and everyone at the personal level continues to manage.

This customer has no plans to alter his buying habits if the pound starts doing insane things to your company.
A good product remains a good product even if a rough unfriendly economy boots around your prices.

I buy based on the quality of the goods and services, not who has the cheaper price.

Its really public spending that is about to take a big hit. Private companies have been through the worst of it already and 2010 is a better year all round for us.

Iain

That is a sage and very concise summary of the UK's problems, probably the best I have read - facing being Chancellor? I understand that there is a vacancy. :)

If only our politicians could be as honest and concise about the problem...

Glad to hear that Ian. Saw some atypical 'Downfall' humour videos sub titled to play on all of this, and really I don't know sweet diddly about most UK politics, but it looked like hell was about to open up on the average UK bloke.

Glad to hear that Slihterine has weathered it out. Hope your own private life is in good shape too :)

Looks like all the Merger buzz has died out. I'm looking forward to 2010-2011 being a time of really great innovations from my two favourite wargame suppliers.

I will take this moment though to mention, I have heard a rather alarming amount of 'who are they, and why should I care' remarks aimed at both you and Matrix Games.

With that in mind, you likely need to sit with the Matrix Games guys, and ponder how to make more than us fan boys aware of your existence out in the greater gaming universe.

I hear ya man. Here in the US we are experiencing the worst economic conditions since the Great Depression. Unpleasant sighs. :(
