Second Battle of the Western Desert campaign, The Settlement the terrain is listed as Forest, but sure looking like buildings to me on the Victory location square.

Observation. Why is a Matilda's 2lber firing HE? This was one of the 2lbers major shortcomings if I am not mistaken.
Observation. Why is a Bren firing HE when shooting at Infantry?

Is it the game needs a better term than HE? Because I doubt they are firing High Explosive. This detail is very credibility disturburbing. It also goes against doctrine, as a tank won't waste AP on Infantry.

I enjoy the simulation level of Air and Artillery support. I don't feel any need to make it any more complex. So far it has worked fine for me in employment. Although I am wondering if it might be working too well :) Nothing ever seems to survive at all.

If anything, I am wondering if casualties on Infantry are too easy. Mine, theirs, units seem to have no staying power at all. Armour seems to enjoy low calibre weapons too much.

We do tend to use HE as a catchall for any type of anti-soft target weapon. We do want to have a single description so that the player doesn't have to learn different icons or descriptions for what are inherently the same things.

Any suggestions!? :)

Ahh so it DID submit hehe. I was unsure I was doing it correctly.

Also found I was vexed not being able to easily fix typos in my comment (ok I'm fussy on typos :)).

Ammo is usually anti personel or anti armour.

Perhaps I am merely being fussy on the term.

In ASL Advanced Squad Leader, they usually go with Infantry Target Type and Vehicle Target Type. That would be easy to make INF and ARM I suppose. Not any easier a term to learn, but I think most of our audience will be sufficiently wargamerish to recognize those two 3 letter combos.
Generally INF is anything fired down range meant to hit an HE requirement. Thus machine gun fire and high explosive are different physically but have the same task.

I was mainly concerned as we wargamers can be fairly anal :) The 2pdr can't fire HE. And machine gun fire while anti infantry is also not HE.

We want the game to be widely playable, so we need terms which are fairly widely recognised. Not that HE and AP are necessarily terms that non-warriors would know!
