I purchased FOG about six weeks ago and would like to take this opportunity to thank the folks at Slitherine, HexWar, et.al. for producing a fun, realistic and eminently replayable wargame. You are to be further commended for the many timely updates and additions provided since the game's initial release. Although it is disappointing for gamers and designers alike to endure the occasional bug, I think all of us can agree that the folks here have gone above and beyond in supplying us with patches and improvements over the last several weeks which have truly made a fine game even better. We have all dealt with other companies and designers who lack either the resources or motivation to provide adequate support for their products and it is refreshing to encounter a group so receptive to their customers, dedicated to the hobby and constantly looking for ways to upgrade and enhance the experience.
Since beginning to play the game, I lurk here daily and have been pleased to find such intelligent and enthusiastic discourse. Many online forums often degenerate into petty squabbles, gripes or off-topic nonsense, but there seems to be very little of that here. Players offer their insight, constructive criticism and help while the designers cheerfully and graciously accept all suggestions, then work quickly to implement the changes they deem beneficial to all.
Also, I would like to express my gratitude to the many of you who have contributed well-designed scenarios for the benefit of the entire community. From those of us less knowledgable, patient and ambitious, your time and efforts are praiseworthy, indeed.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that plans for a Medieval add-on are in the works for the very-near future and I shall have my pre-order in soon. I think I speak for all of us in saying that we look forward to the continuing growth and expansion of FOG and many, many hours of gaming pleasure.
Thanks again to everyone here.
Thanks

I am especially grateful for the recent patch, and - as a side benefit - was very happy to discover I will no longer be allowed to spam elite legionaries in 600+ point battles (I am very weak willed, give me an opportunity to take unrealistic numbers of top quality troops and I will...I must be saved from myself). I notice a few of the lists have been tweaked, and all for the better as far as I can see.
Playing as:
Danish - Won 1, Lost 2
Lancastrians - Won 3, Lost 3
Milanese - Lost 1
Scots Isles and Highlands - Lost 1
Swiss - Won 25, Lost 3

In existing games will elite legions over the new lower limit be converted into scarecrows?
PS, can't get you a turn because I'm currently travelling on busines, don't have access to the game.
I am in total agreement with the sentiments of you jcgator. It really is a beautifully put together package both in gameplay and graphics. I have always wanted to buy and paint an Armenian army but always shyed away from it in case I didn't like how it played on the tabletop, now after 30 plus years I own one on my PC and have played with it time and again, and think its wonderful. In due course I shall indeed buy and paint one for my tabletop games, thats how good this is for wargamers like myself.
