Huguenots
The 7 base LTs are not legal. The rules specify that only Swedish brigades can have 7 bases.

Managed to miss that when I checked.
As mentioned they should probably be 4+4 but I'm trying to avoid them having the pike 4 deep and I'd rather avoid a special rule making them deploy the pike only 2 deep. I suspect 4+4 is what I'll have to live with

Well I am not very happy about them being Later Tercios if they are 4 & 4. Why should they get immunity to flank charges?nikgaukroger wrote:Buggerrbodleyscott wrote:The 7 base LTs are not legal. The rules specify that only Swedish brigades can have 7 bases.![]()

Because there is a depiction of a deployment plan from 1610 which has some of them deployed as "mini-tercios" of a central pike block and 4 "horns" of shot.

In which case surely they should be Early Tercios? (Until they lose a shot base)nikgaukroger wrote:rbodleyscott wrote: Well I am not very happy about them being Later Tercios if they are 4 & 4. Why should they get immunity to flank charges?

If you're OK with it - it felt a bit wrong with them being so small ...

Well they won't stay ETs long but I think if you want the windmill effect that is what they must be.nikgaukroger wrote:rbodleyscott wrote:In which case surely they should be Early Tercios? (Until they lose a shot base)nikgaukroger wrote:

However, they are still a bit of a swizz if they can turn into ETs and get protection from flank attacks.
