Florentine monster
This is a 800 (787) point Florentine army. It has 28 BG equivalents.
3 x TC
1 x 4 Elmeti
4 x 4 mounted crossbowmen
1 x 4 mounted arquebusiers
1 x 14 unarmoured Landsknecht pikemen (Grand Battle Group)
6 x 14 unarmoured poor Militia pikemen (Grand Battle Groups)
2 x 6 poor Militia crossbowmen
2 x 6 Mercenary crossbowmen
2 x 2 Light artillery
2 x 6 Arquebusiers
Is this a problem?
Making the militia pikes 10-12 bases so they cannot have GBGs would help a little.

Before I forget, there is a typo in the Milanese sub-section - "elemeti" instead of "elmeti".

I take it the BG number worries you?rbodleyscott wrote:Florentine monster

No reason why we couldn't have 10-12 base BGs - we have them in the Peasant Wars list because Karsten felt that GBGs was too good.
Actually thinking about it, his issue was support and, IIRC, a 10-12 base BG of pike will still count as a keil and so be supported unless it has troops to its rear.

Re: Florentine monster
This bit reminds me I was considering saying for the Italian States lists that the number of LH BGs cannot exceed the number of Elmeti BGs - whilst some LH were hired out side of the condotta lances, most came associated with them at least and in smaller numbers.rbodleyscott wrote:Florentine monster

Re: Florentine monster
Fully agree. It's not realistic to be able to field far more LH than Elmeti.nikgaukroger wrote:This bit reminds me I was considering saying for the Italian States lists that the number of LH BGs cannot exceed the number of Elmeti BGs - whilst some LH were hired out side of the condotta lances, most came associated with them at least and in smaller numbers.rbodleyscott wrote:Florentine monster

I also spotted a typo in the Italian States list. 'Sword and Bucklemen' should be 'Sword and Bucklermen'rbodleyscott wrote:Florentine monster
