Later Henrician English

Post by nikgaukroger »

Richard asks whether the Stradiots should have a Cavalry option as they do in many other lists.

IMO they appear to be "lumped in" with the Staves, etc. in use in English armies in actual use and so would keep them as LH only.

It has made me wonder if the should have the Cavalry option in other lists ...

Why are the German and Burgundian heavy cavalry lancers Superior in this list?

Should their maximum be reduced to 6 (or even 4) - see Oman page 333.

Should be Average as per other thread.

IIRC this will affect the Starter Army.

I'm happy with it as is - the Oman bit is rather vague as to how many were reiters.

Also at Pinkie there were 1800 men-at-arms on unbarded horses compared to 1600 demi-lancers - so I think we need 0-8 of them.

Should the "more billmen than longbowmen" special instruction (from the Early Henrician list) also apply to this list?

Maybe not if Henry selectively replaced billmen with landsknechts.

I thought not for that very reason.
