Aztec basing
What sort of scheme for doing the base flocking would you guys use for Aztecs?

I used light sand coloured textured basing paint, then a dribble of PVA in places and then some green scatter flock. The light colour brings out the bright colours of the featherwork on the troops and the green scatter gives a good contrast. Overall, the effect is good at normal wargames viewing disctance and gives the feel of the army advancing through the arid Mexican scrubland.

An alternative I use is just buy a metre of rope from a hardward shop, and cut off sections to desired length - looks good for grass tufts.

horse hair works well too, if you can get some white or tan. Provided you're in a rural area and can get the owner's permission.
