Realistic? Good! Then try to realize what type of game the developers are aiming at, instead of ranting about how bad or mediocre everything is when not to your own personal liking. Commander is not Highway to the Reich or TOAW. The developers have repeatedly giving us every hint that it is not. Yet, even if some of your ideas are rather good in themselves, you seem the only one around who can't get this into your head.
And no, I don't think it will be ready by Christmas either. My best guess would be April-May 2007. What makes me so furious is not your opinion on that specific matter, it is the combined amount of Mr Organ knows everything best and therefore has the right to behave in an arrogant way towards all others-attitude that almost makes me wanna quit this forum once and for all.

Oh stop getting your panties in such a twist - for heaven's sake man this is a forum, and I'm well aware my opinion is exactly that - hence I put "IMO" or "I think" around things - and if I forget to do so then it just means that I forgot to do so - doesn't make me the wannabe dictator of all things wargaming!
Sheesh!!
As for criticism - criticism of a game can only be constructive before the game is published (er.....which is to say that there can be negative criticism, but it's too late to change the game after it's finished, so if you want somethign to be different you have to argue for it beforehand.
And so I do. And I'm not about to stop or apologise because you disagree.
now please stop getting personal and get back to helping make this game better than teh competition!

Uxbridge, don't quit the forums because of one person, that's just silly.
We can all be aggravating at times. I'm sure I've managed to severely annoy every forum regular regular at least once, and probably every person at Slitherine at least three times
OTOH, you're always free to tell somebody to Foxtrot Oscar, so long as it's done with a moderate degree of at-least-nominal courtesy, which you've shown us you're capable of doing
Stalin's-Organ is a very well-informed person. More than once, he has called me on a statement I made here, and upon re-examining the evidence, I have had to admit that my original statement was flawed or outright incorrect. He keeps me honest
(WARNING: Juvenile, sophomoric, lowbrow humor ahead!)
And if the man aggravates you utterly, stop for a moment, forget about the Katyushas, put your mind in gutter-humor mode, and imagine what other interpretation one could place on his name

And as I said, you're very well-informed. Not many people recall that classic 3 Stooges gag line
Iain, I think it's all OK.
After all, my own handle is the name of a "beady-eyed marsupial varmint" that most people only ever see dead in the road...

Hehehe, different species completely. The American opossum is Didelphis Virginianus, and the australian ones are a totally different type of marsupial.stalins_organ wrote:In Australia the Possum is a protected species - perhaps you should emigrate there??!!
And I'd not be happy living in any country that didn't allow me to own firearms

Nope, the oz gave up their guns several years ago, but this is a political topic, and one I should not have raised in the first place.stalins_organ wrote:You can own firearms in Australia - not sure why you would think otherwise.

It isn't political - it's a discussion of fact - you should read the article you quote more closely because it tells you about what guns you are allowed to own in Australia - I can't see how you can possibly read it and conclude that it is not possible to own firearms in Australia.
We have very similar laws here in New Zealand - and I can own a firearm without too much bother. Certainly the laws are more restrictive than in hte USA (for example), but they do allow people to own firearms.
