If you move a unit and immediately decide it was the wrong move, can you take it back and redo it?

No, not at all. Also you need to consider that once you've moved a unit and then click the mouse for waht-ever reason, you can't then go back and re-select that unit and attack with it. You must move and attack in the same order with the same unit. Thus you have to plan your attacks!
