Grand Strategy: Spotting Range

Post by _Augustus_ »

Hi all,

Maybe I missed the relevant posts here. But it seems like the game misses the spotting range changes due to wheather unless I move the units

Yes, it does. This is an issue that has not yet been fixed, and I don't know how difficult it would be to remedy. If you need spotting, you can move an air unit to reset that unit's spotting for correct weather.

Thank you for the reply. Spending oil on just to get the spotting range seems bit too costly resourcewise. I found the time to play the game some more finally. So is the situation basically that the the units that have not moved this turn yet use the spotting range of the previous turn? That's a bt awkward, but I think I could live with that.

This happens only on the turn the weather changes. It caused by when the spotting range is calculated in the code.

You can see this as the spotting results you see at the beginning of the turn with the weather change is based upon what the spotting saw at the end of last turn. When you move time moves so you spot again at the new location in the new weather.
