Hints and Tips Windows in Mutliplayer

Post by Morbio »

It may be just me (no comments - ) but when I launch the game it brings up the tips windows and even though I check the box to tell the game not to tell me again it does tell me when I launch the game next time. It's not a major issue, but it is slightly annoying to have to keep closing the same boxes with the same bits of advice every time I start to play.

On a slightly related point, the system has stopped remembering my password. Again, not a big deal to retype, but it isn't doing what it should be. :?

I'm running XP (Media Centre Edition) and have administrator access level.

Any ideas what I should do to fix it?

Both of these problems are related. It is failing to save out your settings which is why it thinks you are a first time user and has no password stored.

Can you give us any more details such as where you installed the game to? Are you able to save user scenarios when you edit them?

Also
1) Are you using a 64 bit version of Windows.
2) Did you accept all the installation defaults

If on Vista or Windows 7 did you install as an administrator (this can cause problem so is a bad idea, particularly on Vista, as should have no need to do this). It may require a reinstall with the default settings.

I'm running XP. How do I tell if it is 64bit?

I accepted all installation defaults.

/bump regarding the question: How do I tell if it is 64 bit?

Also, I've noticed that on some game launches my password is prefilled, on other it isn't.

The hints and tips are still always showing whatever. It's still annoying... perhaps a little more than it was before
