Bow* charging.

Post by Geoff2 »

2 questions.
Do bow* have to test to charge (as per page 60) if also armed with HW.
If pusuers contact a fresh enemy in the JAP phase the impact is done in the impact phase of the following bound. If at that time an enemy BG is in position to intercept charge (ie flank charge)can it as it would mean the chargers would have completed their move before the intercepting BG did theirs.

Thanks in advance Geoff.

I don't believe so - no. Bow* denotes a subsidiary weapon and is not one one of the categories listed on P60.

Pursuers can never be the target of an intercept charge as such. Depending upon the sequence of play, it is possible that the pursuers could be the subject of a charge by an enemy BG. No reason this couldn't be a flank charge provided all of the other criteria are met.

Bow* troops can charge without testing. Bow* and Bow are treated as separate weapon types so are only included if specifically mentioned, so, for example, Bow* do not get support shooting at impact.

If a BG has contacted fresh enemy out of sequence (as in the pursuit example) there is no opportunity to intercept.
