I just had to do a AAR for this new battle. I really love Elephants and Classic Indians can field a whole lot of Elephant!
So here is is the starting positions for our battle:
The Indians make their initial move. The Elephants hold back allowing the Indian Archers to move forward to deal with the Macedonian skirmishers (hopefully). The medium spearmen are moving to support the other units and hold up in rough terrain were they may have a chance. Cavalry moving to hit the Macedonian right flank, and the Chariots moving to hit the Macedonian left flank.
The Indian army moves forward scattering the enemy light horse and skirmishers while loosing a few volleys of arrows themselves. The Elephants form back up into a battle line.
The Macedonian army surges forward with the skirmishers and light horse concentrating in the center of their battle line. One unit of Indian Cavalry and one unit of Chariots charges without orders.
The Indian Archers let fly with volleys of arrows with some moving into the high ground. The medium spearmen move into difficult terrain. The Chariot all charge in, and the Elephants advance.
The Macedonian army surrounds the Indian Cavalry but Lysimachos is taken down! One unit of medium infantry is routed by the Indian Chariots but the Phalangites do heavy damage to the rest of the Chariots. All three Indian Chariots fall back, but two charges back in.
Two units of Indian Elephants charge in doing heavy damage to the Macedonian center. Another unit maneuvers to charge the Macedonian heavy cavalry next turn. The Indian medium spearmen engage the Macedonians on their right flank, engages the heavy cavalry in the center from rough terrain, and supports a unit of chariots on the Macedonian left flank. The Indian archers continue to launch their arrows except for three units fighting a unit of Macedonian Phalangites in the center of the battle line. The Indian Cavalry has been badly mauled and have taken shelter behind the Elephant battle line. The Chariots are fully engaged on the Macedonian Left Flank.

Again, the two armies batter each other with heavy damage on both sides. One unit of Macedonian Phalangites are routed. The Indian Cavalry stubbornly refuse to rally.
Better get used to those cav and chariots doing the uncontrolled charges, seems to happen a lot in this army.
If you can swing it try to engage the elite cav with your elephants, nothing like making them lose a die without having to work for it. The AI seems to enjoy charging elephants with the lancers, odd choice but....
Another unit of Macedonian Phalangites route, but the Indian army is heavily battered this turn. Two units of Archers, a Unit of Elephants, and a Unit of Chariots are routed. Also, the general Duria is killed in battle!
The Indian Army wins against the Macedonians - 16/27 to 25/24.
Hats off to the Medium Infantry with the light spears. These guys did a lot in this game including the two final charges against the rear of Macedonian units that won the game! Who says thes guys are usless.
My first time out with the army, and I used free deployment which I think makes a big difference in this scenario, was an Indian victory, 9/ 27 to 26/24 Macedonians got owned in that battle. It helped that on a few occasions the chariots broke off and were in a position to rear charge Macedonian units. I want to try it against a human opponent.
