GS - Matrix version installer issues

Post by joerock22 »

I have the Matrix version of the game, so the batch file with the GSv1.00 download doesn't work for me. I tried simply changing the code to match my file system, as follows:

"C:\Matrix Games\Commander Europe At War 1.12\jre\bin\java.exe" -Xss20m -Xms400m -Xmx800m -classpath . CEAW 14100

That didn't work, so I tried several other things, including changing the numbers to 30, 300, 600 because that's what works for me on CNAW. But I still think I'm getting java exceptions (the command prompt pops up and vanishes too quickly for me to read it). Do I need a special program to edit the batch file, or can I really just right click on it and click "edit," then edit it in notepad? Does anyone have any ideas? If not, I'll have to either install separately or wait for the official installer.

Joe, in this case it's probably best to run the mod by double clicking on the Commander.exe file. Just copy the mod over the top of your vanilla game and then execute it by double clicking on the Commander.exe file.

In addition to the *.bat file we included *.asc file with the bat command. To change the command (i.e., edit the file), I edit it in the *.asc file, create a copy of that file and then change the extension to the *.bat. Of course, you'll need to delete the old *.bat file before changing the extension of the edited *.asc.

Note: you will only have a Commander.exe file is you purchased a version of CEaW prior to CEaW MH Gold v1.12.
