The next Oxford Sunday FOGR event is to be held on September 13. Please let me know if you wish to join us.

The details are as follows.

25mm scale – 600 points, 6x4 table, Thirty Years War, 23rd May 1618 to 15th May 1648, fought between: Protestant Forces (Sweden, France, Dutch, German States), Catholic Forces (Holy Roman Empire, Spanish Empire, Hungary, Croatia)

Players create terrain using the normal rules but number of extra pieces is reduced to a maximum of 3.

Deployment on 6X4 tables for 25mm games is standard I.e. use 15mm MUs for all deployment actions (but not for anything else) except that camps are reduced to half normal depth

1st Round 9.00am to 11.30am
30-minute break
2nd Round 12.00 am to 2.30pm
30 -minute break
3rd Round 3.00 pm to 5.30pm (we only have the hall until 6.00pm)

Rules additions to main set
• Army lists may exceed allowed points by the cost of the cheapest base used.
• Any heavy artillery used must be the first battlegroup(s) deployed, followed immediately by any medium artillery used.
• Dragoons making any move including an evade starting or ending within 6MU of the enemy, may make a full dragoon mounted move if they pass a CMT. If they make a move which would be longer than that allowed to dragoons on foot they may shoot, but as Carbines (in range and effect) not as Muskets. Dragoons may use bayonet if the infantry in their army can at the relevant cost per base.
• Cavalry that pass a CMT can either move 2MU and turn 180 or turn 180 and move 2MU or turn 180 move 2MU and turnback 180.

Any foot battle group wishing to move from the central sector into a flank zone either by impact, march or manoeuvre, may do so freely.

Once in a Flank Zone a foot battle group of foot battle troops can move freely but must pass a CMT: -
• to charge. (See page 83 of the rules)
• To move closer to enemy within 6" or at or less than within 6" of such enemy, which
is entirely mounted or elephants. (Any foot within 6" or would come to within 6", that are being closed on negate this requirement)
• where appropriate for the type of manoeuvre ie expanding, contracting etc.

Foot units are however, free to turn 90/180 as required without the need of a CMT (unless their formation type requires it under the rules). This means that foot units can respond normally to other foot units even in the presence of mounted battle troops, but are hesitant when only faced by mounted battle troops.

Currently I have 9 entries. So, at least one more would be great. Our overall limit is 12 entries, still plenty of room!
