Simple Editor Question - Play Button

I've started building scenarios and campaigns on a Mac, and the editor won't start playing a scenario directly. I get a CRC error. It works just fine on Windows. Using the Play button in the Editor is one way I used to play-test the scenario.

What settings does the play button use for a scenario? I'm especially interested in the Difficulty, but if there are other settings selected, I'd like to know those as well.

Side note: I get better game performance on the 2024 Mac Mini with 16 GB RAM, using Crossover, than I do with an 11th Gen Intel i5 and 64 GB of RAM.
