Squadron Leader question

Hi, I fired up the squadron leader part of the game. Quite a fun addition! I have a question for you. I finished the first scramble and shot down a bomber but did not lose anyone. However at the end it said I suffered a crushing defeat. What do I need to do in order to not loose? Shoot down all three bombers?
