WTC25 ROUND 1 FINAL TEAM SCORES AND STANDINGS

All but one of the 64 games were started by 14th September.
11 games are reported with strongest start for The Rusty Sword of Destiny. L'épée have 14 points from 3 games.
Armchair Heroes and The Knights are at two victories each with only bonus points between them.
Meanwhile last years first and second Zhu Que and Furor Gallico post two winning starts each with just 3 points of loss separating them.

All 64 round 1 games were started by 15th September.
17 Games now reported. Strongest still The Rusty Sword of Destiny. L'épée have 19 points from 5 games but no longer with a perfect record. Lupi Belli have now taken points off them.
Armchair Heroes and The Knights move to three victories each with 13 points each and a damage difference of just one point. A very close struggle.
Charming Champians join last years first and second teams Zhu Que and Furor Gallico in also post two winning starts. The Champians though had narrower victories and so have two fewer bonus points.

21 Games now reported. Strongest still are The Rusty Sword of Destiny. L'épée with 25 points from 6 games were briefly leapfrogged by Furor Gallico who have four wins from four and, so far, the best win record.
No new outcomes in Armchair Heroes and The Knights close struggle.
Ursa Major post a win in the first result in their match With Boudica's. No results yet from Comites vs Desperta or Laser Kiwis vs The Wargaming Club 1.

With 37 games now reported. The Rusty Sword of Destiny, L'épée, have been leapfrogged once more by Furor Gallico who now have seven wins from seven.
Armchair Heroes and The Knights close struggle has one match left and remains close - advantage the Heroes
All matches know have games complete and nothing is yet certain.

With 51 of 64 games declared and three full days to go to end of round 1 it seems that the Match 1 and Match 8 of Round 2 are decided.
Unless Comites post four 6-0 wins in the last games of their match then last year's champions, Zhu Que, having lost just one game, will play last years runners up, Furor Gallico, who lead with a perfect record.
The teams who were unfortunate in being drawn against these strong performers will also meet in round 2.
L’Epee remain close behind the leaders in third place but could still be overtaken. Other than that close matches mean that the remaining Round 2 games are not going to be decided until the final results are in.

25 hours to end of round

With 60 of 64 games declared and just 25 hours to go to end of round 1 it is still the case that only Match 1 and Match 8 of Round 2 are decided.
Last year's winners and runners-up will face off in round 2 (they cannot play again after this) but this time it is last year's runners up who have the points advantage. Match 8 will be The Wargaming Club 2 against Legio Cincinnata who were unfortunate in being drawn against last year's strongest teams.
It is still in the balance as to how the remaining six matches will fall. Because the matches have been so close only L'epee (in third place) and Lupi Belli (in fourteenth place) will not move. The four games yet to report can mathematically change all the positions between four and twelve.

Any adjudication takes place on the 29th September. The final round one standings will be posted before 21:00 UCT on 29th September and the round 2 Challenge thread opened; allowing round two to start before the official start time of 00:00 UCT 30th September.

This is the final update for round 1 and any adjudication changes affecting Round 2 Matches will be posted in the Round 2 challenge thread here viewtopic.php?t=118457

This thread will be finalised and opened before 21:00 UCT tomorrow the 29th September.

Challenges can be posted and accepted immediately but official start time for round 2 is 00:00 UCT 30th September

All 64 games in round 1 have were declared before the Round deadline.
Round 2 matches will be finally decided before 21:00 UCT tomorrow and published here viewtopic.php?t=118457.

At the end of Round 1 Furor Gallico and Zhu Que are dominant and will play each other in Match 1 of Round 2. This time last year's runners up enter the match with the points advantage being 6 points ahead.
L'épée are also well placed just 7 points behind Zhu Que and 4 points ahead of the pack.
L'épée and the remaining teams will be hoping for a bruising and even match between the top two in round 2. As there is very little separating the teams in 4th to 8th place; a mere four points with Comites only above Ursa on the basis of the difference in damage inflicted - damage lost being 10 points better. For Armchair Heroes below Trans Atlantic it is on the basis of just 12 points of difference.
Positions 9 to 14 are separated by a further six points.
All of these teams remain in close contention in round 2.
Meanwhile match 8's contenders, The Wargaming Club 2 and Legio Cincinnata unlucky in their first round draw against the experienced teams, are both in touch and can climb the rankings easily.

A very interesting round 2 awaits.
