Re: Habsburgs are loveable Round 1
i'm having difficulty setting up my game. Italian 1494-1530 and Spanish Imperial 1519-1523 both appear as pro Imperial and don't seem to want to fight each other. Having said that I am down with covid and my brain isn't working properly so I am probably missing something blindingly obvious....

Indeed. You need to click somewhere to enable all nations (On/Off) – unfortunately, I don't remember the exact name, and I can't check it now.Doyley50 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 8:29 am i'm having difficulty setting up my game. In the fertile fields of sunny Lombardy, in a battle to capture the magnificent city of Milan, the Spanish Imperial Army attacked the Kingdom of France.
The Spanish only had to wait a moment at their fortified positions for their flanking forces to encircle the small but elite French army and their Swiss pikemen.
Unfortunately, their impatient commander threw his entire center into an attack on the columns of French Keils just marching into battle positions. And that was a bad plan...

Hi,mp bhulekh
What a dramatic clash! The Spanish commander’s impatience cost them dearly—charging the disciplined French and Swiss keils head-on was a mistake. Holding the line for the flank to close in could have secured Milan.

Re: Habsburgs are loveable Round 1
After an epic struggle the righteous Habsburgs have beaten the revolting peasants commanded by the arch-rebel TyroneC by 50% to 60%.
The early stages saw some manouvering for position with both forces occupying a hill on their right while withdrawing from the opposite hill. Eventually we stood on our hill and swung onto the flank of his forces as they attacked ours.
He had surplus units which attempted to pass around our flank but pike blocks are notoriously shite for this sort of thing. The quality of our landsknect pike and our colonellas overwhelmed his peasant pikes and his army broke.
So honours are even with both sides having 2 wins and 2 defeats.
