Field of Glory II & Medieval – World Team Championship 2025 is Coming

The tournament will run from September 10th to December 17th and will follow a five round Swiss system format for teams of four players.

We welcome entries from complete teams of four, with the option of including a fifth reserve player. Individuals, or groups of two or three who would like to participate and are open to being assigned to a team, are also strongly encouraged to join.

This is a community celebration, and all are welcome!

Tournament Format

Each team will assign one player to each of the four historical periods featured in every round:

Field of Glory II: Bronze Age, Classical, Fall of Rome
Field of Glory II: Medieval: Medieval period

In Round 1, teams will be paired randomly. From Round 2 onwards, matchups will be determined using the Swiss system combined with a custom scoring model. Importantly, no team will face the same opponent more than once throughout the tournament.

Each team match will consist of four games, with players facing their counterparts from the opposing team in their assigned periods.

What’s new in WTC25

This year’s edition introduces a new mirror match format. For each round, the army lists and terrain types will be pre-set and shared by both players in each match-up.

All army lists will feature historical opponents, with unique pairings for every round. Players will have 18 days to complete each match.

Important dates to mark

August 31st – Entry deadline
September 3rd – Final team list announced
September 9th – Live team draw on Twitch
September 10th – Tournament begins

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams:

1st Place Team – $50 Slitherine digital store coupons per each team members
2nd Place Team – $30 Slitherine digital store coupons per each team members
3rd Place Team – $20 Slitherine digital store coupons per each team members

In addition to the team prizes, we’ll also be awarding individual prizes to further boost engagement within the community:

Most Valuable Player (MVP) – One individual not in a prize winning team

Spot Prize – One individual (not in a prize winning team or the MVP) who participated in all five rounds

Each of these players will receive a custom portrait in Field of Glory: Kingdoms style, a unique way to leave their mark on the game.
