Thirty Years War Swedish Phase

We will kick off the next round of the campaign despite the last battle in the Danish phase not being complete.

Date of Battle 15 April 1632. The Swedes under King Gustav Adolph have invaded Northern Germany. With Wallenstein having been sidelined by the Emperor the Count of Tilly Johann Tserclaes has massed his forces to repel the invaders.

The Imperial player sets up the battle; Large armies, open battle, agricultural terrain. Password is 1632

Victory for the Swedes

Ironclad (Swedish) v Changdao (Catholics) 48-64

Tough batttle which saw the impressive Catholic cavalry inflicting heavy losses on their Swedish mounted foes who somehow survived long enough to allow the Swedish infantry to finally achieve dominance in the critical central battle after a long arduous struggle. Thanks to Changdao.

AKvGoeben (Swedes) defeats Ahuyton (Imperials) 19-44.

A tough skirmish and cavalry fight developed on either wing whilst the Swedish infantry advanced to contact. An extended firefight was going the way of the Imperials so the order was given for the Swedes to charge, Sabaton on full blast. Swedish infantry on the right and in the centre were victorious whilst heavy casualties were sustained on the left.

Definitely feels like this matchup is tough for the Imperials given the expense of the tercios.

Likewise, the Swedish firepower was too much for the Imperials.

Reports have come in that the Swedes under Dilly have defeated the Imperials of Lascar by 12 to 47

So far its a great round for the Anti-Imperials, with only 2 games to finish the round

Result for Round 4, Swedish Phase

The Swedes under King Gustav Adolph have invaded Northern Germany and been repelled by KiwiWarlord.

KiwiWarlord's 18,300 strong Catholic League Army (14%) defeats Ciberpencho's 13,000 strong Swedish Army (40%)

The Catholic League sat atop a large hill and were attacked on both flanks and frontally by the many Swedish Cavalry & Foot Regiments which were beaten off and defeated.
(9 Tercios and 5 Kurassiers beat off the 15 Foot and 15 Cavalry Regiments of the Swedish Army)

This phase is indeed complete.

A massive turn around with 6 wins to the Antis and only 2 to the Imperials, so the score is 12 wins and 3 draws to the antis, 17 wins and 3 draws to the Imperials. So the Antis must do even better than this round to win the Tournament.
