[Jan '25] What is the status of random map PvP gameplay

Hi all,

I have played some time PC2 when it came out and watched few tactical videos, then tried multiplayer on random maps...just to see that there was an issue with turn 1 parachuters and/or transported inf units occupying at turn 1 or 2 strategical cities, effectively deciding the game. If I remember well, you could partially compensate for this by playing very large maps, not sure now. Anyhow since I consider such move not fun for longer PvP strategical fight, and also other reasons having nothing to do with this game, I made a break. I am thinking now of maybe restarting, but am interested in multiplayer around 70%. So, how is the state of this game with respect of random map skirmish mp? Or you have some other games to suggest (OOB...?) Thanks.

Hi,

We are a group of PC2 players who organize our own PVP tournaments with some extra rules in order to have a decent, more fair game.

In the next tournament we are thinking about adding a few rules, like not allowing rushing infantry in trucks or half-track (which really doesn't make sense anyway) and limiting the number of paratroops to like 1.

Let me know if want to play a test game with this.
