Background color/unit colors or highlighting

Post by hyperstork67 »

Hello, I was advised that I should ask these questions here. I'm looking for a way to make my units more visible in the campaign. I'm currently on the first mission of the AO 1939, with the background being that desert-yellow autumn dry grass color. Many of my units simply melt into this background, which is a shame because I just love looking at them. For instance, my 109s, using the standard default camo, are very hard to see on the yellowish background. I've made the units max size in settings but it did not help. It seems many of the camos are lighter than their color swatches would suggest, and thus harder to see. So, my questions: any way around this? Is there some way to unpack and edit the background colors, or has somewhat made a mod to highlight units better, or is there any other way or mod to change any of these things? Or add camo patterns, or has someone already done so? I'm an artist so I don't mind messing with files if needed, I did that with PC1 way back when. Thanks for any help.

hyperstork67 "I concur with your argument!". My preference would be to have every color of the Rainbow... all as "Separate-Colors"... so that the player may then select which color to use to make his troops more easily visible to him... or her.

Old eyes. I just want to be able to see them more clearly, they're beautiful models, while still using semi-realistic colors. I've added a few "new" vehicles (just copying the game-supplied models) to the units.csv so I could have an E-1 and and E-3 for the 109s, for instance, and I like giving them slight variations to tell them apart. Has anyone succeeded making their own camos to add to the official ones? That would be fun to try...
