Can WarWagons pursue routing troops?

Post by urbanbunny1 »

Hi, I ran into this one last night at the club.

My battle group of two warwagons had been charged by Cav, with ultimately the cav loosing (the supporting knights may have had something to do with it).

The cav routed and we were wondering if the war wagons could choose to pursue. From the rules, it says that you must pursue unless you are war wagon, so, sure, I don't have to, but could I have?

The aim of the pursuit was not to contact the cav again, but the light horse who were 1 MU away from the cav when they started the rout.

Thanks

Simon

No.

(Ignore the inevitable 3 day argument from the rules lawyers, the answer will still be no.)

The very image of a slow moving high-sided wooden vehicle pursuing anything is almost too amusing for words

Lets hope thats it for the 3 days of arguments.

Quite true, along with plentiful use of incendiary weaponry on the battlefield (such as the blazing logs rolled into the hapless legionairies in the final battle in Spartacus, or the incendiary spewing artillery in Gladiator --"that's not naptha that's napalm"

I must say tht picture does not appear to match the game description of "battle wagon"

Obvously rules for man powered flying vehicles seems to have been neglected, oh well....

In this case I suspect 'flying vehicles' are akin to 'flying columns', and never get off the ground. However, the apparatus should give enough lift to allow for pursuit.
