To Generic Mod Enabler or Not to Generic Mod Enabler
So, I'm about ready to give up. I have the Steam version of Panzer Corps and have found many Mods that work simply by unpacking them in the Mods folder vias Documents on a Windows machine. There seems to be any number of more complex Mods/Campaigns out there; however, I don't know if they work on Steam. Do I need the GME? How do I get that to work? Or is this just wishful thinking? Any help/clarification/direction is much appreciated. And yes, I've read through the convoluted posts here on Slitherine that go back some 15 years with dead links and such.
Re: To Generic Mod Enabler or Not to Generic Mod Enabler
There is no 'need' to use GME.
The Mods should play on STEAM without GME.

Some Mods such as 'Battlefield Europe' use GME to change the user interface, but can be played without GME.

There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.

I made a detailed mod installation guide for GME (regardless of steam or non-steam game version):dalfrede wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 4:11 pm There is no 'need' to use GME.

While it might seem daunting, it is very detailed and takes some 15 minutes of focus, but then works in principle for nearly every current mod.
Of course mod descriptions may supercede those instructions (some are not compatible with PzC 1.32 or require picking and choosing which folders to copy from the downloaded archive files into the GME directory).
longer, alternative "PG" like Campaign new version 0.34 from 2011.08.02 (another bugfix & now in zip format)
