Strategos 2009 - Storm of Arrows - Results (Wellington, NZ)

Post by Tirithon »

The 5th Annual Strategos tournament was held over the weekend. Strategos is a one day comp designed to allow participation by those with family commitments who normally can't make 2 day comp.

This year was a themed event based on Storm of Arrows. 4x2 hour rounds with Starter armies on 5x3 tables with pre-set terrain.

Strategos is scored using a combination of Battle scores; Sportsmanship, and Army presentation (25, 10, 5). The focus is much more on fun and hobby aspects rather than pure competition (the 2 most prestigious awards are the overall Pericles Award and the Charles the Bold Award - for Lowest Battle Score!)

Player - Army (Total: Battle, Sports, Presentation)

1. Greg Jennings - Ordonnance French (136: 76, 40, 20)
2. Mike Thorn - War of the Roses - Yorkist Pretender (133: 85, 34, 14)
3. Richard Woolford - Medieval Welsh (120: 62, 40, 18 )
4. Craig Byron - Free Company (106: 53, 37, 16)
5. Alex McEwen - Later Low Countries (101: 49, 40, 12)
6. Robert Cordner - Ordonnance French (100: 54, 34, 12)
7. Che Tibby - Later Medieval Swedish (93: 36, 37, 20)
8. Michail Woolf - War of the Roses - Richard III (84: 26, 40, 18 )
9. David Kinzett - Scot Isles and Highlands (83: 34, 37, 12)
10. Neil Skene - War of the Roses - Tudor (66: 12, 40, 14)

Gengius Khan (sic) (General Killer): Richard Woolford
Gaiseric the Vandal (Camp Killer): David Kinzett

Thanks to all who took part and to Richard Woolford, Alex McEwen and Craig Byron for help in planning, setting up & transport.
