What type of armor are the knights wearing? That would be the figure most likely to be restrictive for an appropriate time period.

First thoughts would be Later Crusaders or one of the Spanish Armies from Storm of Arrows (not seen the Feudal lists yet - Amazon finally despatched them wednesday) but something spanish is likely to work - Think Charlton Heston and you are well on your way.

Also look at the Feudal Sicilian (Norman or Hohenstaufen). Not much in the way of Military Orders, except possibly Frederick IIs crusade but definite options for mixed knights and Arab types.

They are all chain armoured altough many of the knights have unarmoured horses so could pass for anything before plate.

The figs are ald glory late crusaders but painted as knights of st john/hospitalers.

The main point of the earch for a list is more to find a legal list that cna be used to stand in and give an excuse for them to be used in lieu of a distinct knights of St john list.
