Dear Slitherine Team,
thanks for organizing the new tournaments.
With using the old maps from WC 2021 you also repeated an error in the calculation of the points, if somebody wins early.
My game with the Germans ended after turn 10, but I did not get the points for each victory hex for another 5 rounds.
If I remember correctly, there was the same issue during WC 2021. With only 3 games to go in this tournament, it is much more annoying.
Please check this issue and see, if you can give all players the correct number of points.
Thank you!
(if a finished game has less then 1800 points in total, there is something wrong)

Re: PC Day League tournament: Bug in calculating points
I had the same problem...
Re: PC Day League tournament: Bug in calculating points
What will happen if your opponent is passive ( 5 moves a week) and the game does not finish?
Re: PC Day League tournament: Bug in calculating points
Something similar happened to me too.
In "Bug River" my opponent captured all targets on the last turn (as German) but never played his last Polish turn, which did not allow me to complete my last turn as the German side.
On that last turn, I was to capture all remaining objectives.
Perhaps my opponent got points deducted from his score for not completing his turn!
I did end up with a better total score than him but, that was already the trend in the early scenario stages.
Are the rules available for download outside of the game?
UPDATE:
These are the rules:
"If neither player has claimed victory before the time runs out, we adjust the scores based on how much time each player took to play their turns. The aim of this adjustment is to prevent stalling tactics where a player sees they are in a bad situation and stops playing and waits for the game to time out. Players who do this will get a points penalty and in extreme cases may be withdrawn from the tournament and dropped from the draw for the next round, so it is in the player's interest to play turns as quickly as possible. Fundamentally the less turns you play the bigger your penalty will be!"
In round 2, the time ran out before we could complete all the turns because my opponent stalled the game by not playing his next turn. On some occasions he took 3 days to play a single turn.
His score, after his last turn (and at the end of the round), remained the same, indicating he was never penalized in any way.
If stalling is a common practice, this issue needs to be reviewed and adequate measures taken to curb this.
After all, this is akin to cheating and most game developers / moderators do not take lightly to that!
It is unpleasant if you are on the loosing side, it is understandable, but it takes away from the game and the fun of it for the other player.
I would suggest a "capitulate" option for the loosing side, which would allow some positive points to be added to his current score (as an incentive) and the maximum round points then awarded to the winner.
Each turn should also be limited (for example one full day) and the stalling player penalized by either deducting from their in-game prestige or from their round score. If you enrloll in a tournament, you should be prepared to also take part in it and a full day is more than enough to find 30 minutes to play a turn.
Eventually, if the game is incomplete at the end of the round with turns still left to play, the player that kept the last turn stalled should lose all their round accumulated points (or maybe half). This alone should deter players to even consider this ugly tactic.
The stalling does not only block the winner from playing the full game, but it also stops him from achieving maximum points and equally be matched with the stronger opponents. In my last game, the reason I did not get very high scores is because I was still in the execution of my strategies and counting on the full turns count.

I didn't get 500 points for my second win as a Russian. It's annoying!
Re: PC Day League tournament: Bug in calculating points
Yes. This happened to me too (2 times during 3 rounds). Judging by the points some players did receive that bonus though. 3 rounds tournaments don't help either - we have a lot of players who won all their games and left behind the podium.
It seems easy to repair tournaments.
1. Stop giving bonus points for anything.
2. Extend tournaments to 5 rounds.
3 Problem is solved.
Or just stick to knockout tournaments...
Or move to FoG2 / medieval tournaments. Suprisingly everything is working there.
