Like the characteristics of the fighters in the demo

I tried the demo today and have to say I'm impressed. Both the Spitfire and Messer appear to have flight characteristics quite similar to vetted flight sims like the old Aces High mmo and Il-2. The spitfire is very aggressive with tight maneuvers in either the vert or horizontal. A pure dogfighter that with some energy tactics can be hard to beat.

Don't have the opportunity to fly the messer in the demo, but from fighting it in spitfires I can see it fights very familiarly to other flight sims I've tried. The messer has that ability to make the most with its energy through tight vert maneuvers usually at low speeds. Those slats do wonders and it makes the 109 a dangerous opponent when speeds get low. Add the 2(or 3?) 20mm's in the wings(and prop?) and it can make the most of its shot windows too.

I like the UI and the gameplay seemed pretty intuitive. I might have missed some of the finer points (seemed like there were controls for yaw? Can we slide too?!). My only suggestion is to allow the camera to zoom out a bit more when planning.

This has me pretty excited about Scramble and I hope there is thought given to expanding out to other theaters and such. The folks from Battlefront.com did a turn-based air combat game both on Battle of Britain and the USAAF over Europe. This was maybe back in the 90s, but it was a lot of fun. I had asked if they were ever going to come back to those games but their focus was to stay with Combat Mission, which made sense. So glad to see this genre return with Slitherine.
