Changing text size

Post by bahatrick »

As an older player, I have to say that OOB has some of the worst text displays I have ever seen in a wargame, and I've noticed a few complaints about this on the forum.

While I don't think it's possible to make the text sharper or change the font, I did discover a way to change the text to uppercase, which makes a huge difference! The text is still a bit deformed, but it was always anyway. At least you don't have to squint and get a headache.

The steps are easy: copy the text file you wish to alter into the 'Documents' folder (where the My Games folder is, containing your OOB mods, etc).

Next open whatever text editor you normally use (Word, Libre etc) to a new document.

In the text file, select whatever text you wish to alter (usually briefings, titles, objectives and triggers for me), and copy it into the editor.

Select the text you have just copied into the editor, find the Format tab on top, find Text inside, scroll down the options until you find 'UPPERCASE' and click. All of the selected text is now in Caps.

Then just copy & paste the text in Upper over into the text file, until all pertinent texts have been modified.

If you have the patience and diligence, you can modify a 12 scenario campaign in probably 3 hours.

One important step I omitted!! Cut the modified file out of Documents and replace the original file in the Campaign folder. It might be a good idea to backup the originals before modifying!
