Weather Effects

I know you can toggle the animation for weather but I can't find the effects of weather on movement, combat etc.

I would think that weather effects for campaigns and scenarios on the Russian front should be significant.

Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know there are none. It's the terrain type that have effects on movement (mud, snow, arid, normal), not weather. Weather effects are just cosmetic, and while you can change weather during a scenario, the terrain type is set at the start and can't change (you can't make it rain 10 turns in and change terrain from "normal" to "mud" for example).

As SF says, weather is almost entirely cosmetic. Only in the case of sandstorm does it have an effect on speed and line of sight:

Climate, on the other hand, has various effects:

As you can see from that second screen shot, there are a bunch of interesting files to explore in your Data folder. On my PC (and for a direct program download as opposed to Steam), the folder is located here:
