OK, cannot say I am not disappointed by the fact that, having taken my opponent's HQ on turn 11, game ended and I scored what I would estimate as at least 30-40 points less than I would have if I had deliberately held off and just hung around killing more units and amassing locations held points...

Didn't we have this discussion once before? Shouldn't an early winner get at least the full worth of the held vp locations x unspent turns as an additional right?

If you finish a scenario early, you do receive all the RPs for the remaining turns. Except for the very last turn, which just seems to be a programming oversight. Victory point locations (or properly, Primary Objectives) have no bearing on the number of RPs received.

I think the OP's issue is about the Victory Points not Resource Points.

Indeed, this is about scoring in tournament games, not RP in normal campaigns.
