Lists, lists, lists ...

Post by nikgaukroger »

Welcome to the next round of madness that is FoG:R list writing

The plan is that as with the ancient/medieval lists Richard will be the keeper of the documents, version controller and sanity check.

Obviously what is discussed is confidential, especially things like deadlines and so on.

To outline the task ahead here are the 6 books that are to be published and the dates by which we need to get the document to Osprey.

FYI the book titles are fixed so no matter how cheesy/odd they are we are stuck with them

Contents are the proposal that Charles put forward on which basis Slitherine and Osprey have agreed to go forward, however, I expect we have some flexibility here should list development throw up issues or ideas but that may be limited by the availability of Osprey artwork.

Hmm madness, sanity checks, you been playing CoC recently Nik? :D
At least the deadlines are decent this time, must be a first since I got involved with FoG. :)
Titles are about what we have come to expect I'm afraid, just glorifying import taxes is a new highlight. ;)

At first glance the general framework looks fine at least from my point of view. Just German states in book2 might become messy within one list.

One question on: Book 5 - 18. Hungarian 1670-1685 (yes I know I'm getting ahead of myself)
Is that suppose to cover the Kuruczok uprisings? If yes, shouldn't the list extend to the end of the covered period (seems to be 1698)?

Chaps

I have volunteered to continue being inolved with production of FoG lists much against my better judgement, I don't think I can keep up the therapy :D

I will probably lurk as mainly I'll be proof reading and also helping to source and supply the photos for the final books, so need to know what I am asking for from maunfacturers etc. Have to admit Renaissance isn't my thing but when Nik asked me about what Osprey books I had that covered the period I was surpised that it amounts to a sizeable chunk of a sizeable collection

Tally Ho

PS If you get talking to anyone from Yorkshire and they shake your hand, check that you still have your rings on, if they give you a hug check for your wallet and any ear rings and if they offer you a pint then they ain't really from Yorkshire. :) so no need to check the other points

Just a modern day GURPS game set in the Fens - technomancy and Nazi occult

The lists are the framework Osprey agreed and there will be some flexibility - certainly on dates of lists. I will assume you have just volunteered to do these two

What woud people think about swapping the following Trade & Treachery armies:

15. Scandinavian 1494-1523
16. Early Polish 1494-1575
19. Early Danish 1524-1587
20. Early Swedish 1524-1617
21. Early Russian 1494-1552

with the following Clash of Empire armies:

18. Elizabethan English 1559-1603
19. French Wars of Religion Catholic 1562-1597
20. French Wars of Religion Huguenot 1562-1598
21. Early Dutch 1568-1609
22. Early Low Country Spanish 1568-1609

To my mind the Scandanavian, etc. sit better (no claims for perfection) with the Eastern European ones and the English, etc. better with the Italian Wars, etc. than where they are currently listed.

Thoughts?

Note - Slitherine and Osprey have agreed the above change to the list books.
