Ardennes Multiplayer Scenario

I am playing the Ardennes scenario PBEM as the Yanks and noticed that the two American planes are recon planes. This is a real head scratcher since historically once the weather cleared the Allied air forces pounded the Germans from the air. Do the Americans get some attack air units as reinforcements?
