There are plenty of great options, Rostov, Ploesti, Operation Roland, the naval victory around Anchorage, Operation Stormbird. I guess for me I would give my vote to Rostov, the way Manstein crushed that huge Soviet army around the Black Sea.

Rostov could possibly be merged into Kursk as the conclusion of it, the grand battle is more epic than it is in our timeline.
Ploesti will certainly be remembered, with all the what-ifs about how the situation would be if Rommel was really dead. Germany could have lost its Romanian and Hungarian allies, plus the vital Caucasus region, all in one go should the soviet plan succeeded, allowing them to charge into the Balkan and Poland in the similar way to ours, maybe with less achievement, but absolutely not as favorable for the Germans.
It kind of settled the end of the war that came one year later between the two giants, the draw that Rommel managed to reach with all the helps from inside and outside. Well, certainly not mentioning the part about how the American air raid at Munich would link up with the American nuclear attack on Moscow. That story would probably be taken into grave with the few aware of it, and maybe in another century or two would some historians manage to dig out some details against the public knowledge.
Battle of Anchorage, I would say, as the future of warfare. The battles on US mainland would possibly be remembered more by how bloody those were, and how much damage did all the nukes dropped around do to the land in the coming years.

So what I'm hearing, is that in this alternate history, there's going to be a King Kong movie that comes out in 1954, made by the Americans and reflecting on the horrors of atomic warfare.VirgilInTheSKY wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 1:53 am Battle of Anchorage, I would say, as the future of warfare. It would be interesting to see how the American film industry would develop considering Hollywood is part of RK Kalifornia. Would a film industry still develop there or would it emerge on the east coast? What would the American remnant be like politically? Would a hardcore revanchist movement take root focused on retaking the rest of the country? Or would they be pushed into a socialist revolution since the political right would probably be demonized, maybe there would be a "brown scare" that would be like the red scare though probably worse. There is a lot of interesting alt-history to speculate about in this timeline!
Maybe I'll take a stab at writing some kind of fan fiction.
