Opponent's unit visible in deployment phase

Post by PeterThePainter »

I have played a fair number of P & S games PBEM now, but I have never before been able to see an opponent's unit during my deployment. Just the one unit was visible, not the whole army.

Is this something that can happen in a rare set of circumstances?

Yes, I believe especially in large battles with lots of cheap units the initial autodeploy can leave a few units further up than others, resulting in this situation. I believe the same minor bug is in SJ, but not in FoG2/M

I am expecting to meet a mighty host of Morrocan cavalry so that makes sense.

I've also played games where there terrain constricted optimum deployment, so several units arrived as a flank march. Usually this included artillery, which doesn't make much sense.
