LATEST FIELD of GLORY(TM) TERRAIN from MINIATURE WORLD MAKER

Post by jamesmason01 »

Our latest addition to the comprehensive, multi-functional and varied range of terrain already
available specifically for Field of Glory(TM) is two new hills, finished in either earth colours or desert
sand.
Each piece measures approximately 11.5ins (290mm) in length, and is suitable for use with either
15mm or 25mm figures.
The hills, both with rock faces, can be used individually as steep hills, or together, as shown in the
image, to form a gully.

The Field of Glory(TM) range includes mats designating areas of open ground, fields, brush, marshes,
forest, plantations, roads, hills, sea sections, villages, impassable terrain – everything you will need
for your Field of Glory(TM) battleground.

Our terrain is made from latex, and is painted, flocked and ready to place on your table and play.

I'm sorry but whilst they look like nice terrain pieces they don't look like they would be much use for FOG. The steep edge is too uneven and figures would not stay in place on it. How would you position a BG that was halfway off the hill, moving over the steep edge ? I'd use terrain like that for skirmish game, but not for FOG.

Some of the other FOG items on your website look much more appropriate - the marshes, villages and impassables particularly.

I bought a lot of stuff from them recently and I must say that it is REALLY nice terrain, IMHO the best commercially available terrain out there.
Their stuff is made with the wargamer in mind: the trees, rocks, marsh patches, etc... are separate from the underneath ground so they can be moved to make way for the minis.
They also have a selection of impassable features that is absolutely gorgeous (The Acropolis or the Hanging Gardens of Babylon for example).
As for the hills, they sell two types: the "gentle" and the "steep". The gentle hills are perfectly useable with minis as the slopes are gentle (surprise) enough. The steep hill are more difficult to put minis on (but, honestly, I don't think many phalanxes or cavalry battlegroup would go there anyway so the impact is quite limited).
All in all, I would greatly recommend their Field of Glory range (and from the contacts I had with tem, I can say their customer support is really top notch... which is a nice plus !).
