ECW Campaign Fun

I tried the ECW campaign again after many years and I was very frustrated with the advantage that the AI opponent had on the Major General difficulty level. In most battles the AI opponent received enough pre-battle reinforcements to outnumber me more than 2:1. That caused me to lose 75% of the battles.

I changed the difficulty setting to Captain (the lowest), and started a new ECW campaign as Royalists. It makes a big difference! I've won every battle and the enemy armies are up to 50% larger, but mostly 20%. Most of the battles are close until the end and very challenging/interesting. I like that many of the situations are not all Open Battles on Agricultural terrain. I will give it another go on the Colonel setting to see if that is a more balanced game. Too bad that it is not available as MP.
